Combating The Presence Of Gum Infection With Dental Cleanings
Other stages of gum infection may include pyorrhea and gingivitis which are usually considered to be as a separate disease, although a part of the same disease in the gums. The evidence of gum disease may manifest in loose teeth, bleeding gums and pain, which obviously indicates that the disease-causing bacteria is working its way under the gumline, settling in a place unreachable by brushing and flossing. Cleaning the gumline where dental pockets form between teeth and gums in the presence of decay helps combat periodontal disease. Brushing and flossing may not be of help in flushing out the bacteria hidden in dental pockets. What you need is a dental cleaning done by a dental hygienist.
